My name is Pete Dodd and I am an animator based in London.
I once started out in advertising art direction and design, and then began working with animation in 1999. My first short film “Blink” was made in 2000 at Cosgrove Hall Films about a boy who believes the world disappears when he closes his eyes, and then applies that principle to his parents.
In 2003 I came up with the label "Mummysboy". The first project under this was an original children’s TV series project: “DreamMakers”. This was optioned, and is now being developed with Coolabi in London.
“The Tale of Sir Richard”, a four-minute short about an ill-fated knight was this Mummysboy’s last project to be completed, and is currently showing at various festivals around the world - See under work for more details on projects.
"The Fate of Lucien Buckwell" is the next short film that I am working on - more on this soon!
I previously worked as a stop motion animator on Tim Burton's Corpse Bride and have since been doing various projects, both in stop-motion and CG, including design/direction/animation of the Gummy Bear Dance. This has had over 14 Million views online and has even been pegged as the next Crazyfrog, propelling me to the status of "That guy that made that annoying green bear", a lifelong dream of mine which has now been fulfilled.
Currently I am working as Lead Animator on The Tale of Despereaux, a CG feature film being produced at Framestore Animation in London for Universal Pictures.
